CPA ACADEMY @ cpaacademy.org

peter alizio calendar icon at 2:32 PM
I am recommending the CPA Academy (website: cpaacademy.org) as a convenient resource allowing tax professionals to stay current with their continuing professional education. The academy boasts to be the "largest provider of free CPE in the profession". Members (it is free to join) may register for live CPE webinars.  If you are able to view the webinar live the CPE is free.  However, when an emergency at work occurs causing you to miss that scheduled webinar all is not lost! If you miss the live webinar you can still catch the webinar (now previously recorded) by searching the archived webinar section, the bad news is you can't get CPE credits for watching a previously recorded (not live) webinar.

Additionally, the CPA Academy offers a nice self-study option allowing members to watch certain previously recorded webinars followed by taking a quiz. If the member passes the quiz he or she will be rewarded with CPE credit(s). Unlike the live webinars, the self-study option is not free.

Tip make sure to provide a functional working email address so future instructions and registration emails will be received. Below is an actual email webinar reminder.

Why Register for Estate & Trust Day at LIU Post?

Question Mark - Why Register for Estate & Trust Date

As the Director of the Tax and Accounting Institute at Long Island University, I am proud to bring you: Estate and Trust Day at LIU Post.  I believe this to be a special event and anyone with an interest in Trusts and Estates should attend. Here are my top 3 reasons to attend Estate and Trust Day on May 30th, 2019.

1- Value Value Value

Estate and Trust Day at LIU Post is a full-day event with 8 CPE credits being awarded for only $185 or $23.13 per credit. When compared to other local T&E conferences and seminars this is a bargain.  Plus there is More!  In addition to learning and receiving 8 CPE credits for only $185, a continental breakfast and catered lunch are included!

2- Robert Barnett

If you are a member of the tax community you may know Robert Barnett. You may have read an article that he authored or seen him speak at a conference or seminar. I consider Robert one of the top technical tax attorneys in New York State. So what exactly would happen if Robert agreed to and was given complete discretion to select topics and material for an 8-hour T&E seminar?  Register to find out!

3- Venue (Long Island University)

The weather is nice and the LIU Post campus is beautiful this time of year. I will be walking around and admiring the beautiful campus during the lunch break!

I hope you enjoyed reading my top 3 reasons to attend Estate and Trust Day.  Further, information about the seminar can be found below:
